Job Description: Senior Java DevOps EngineerJob Summary - 8 to 10 Years Key ResponsibilitiesExperience in Java development, Spring Boot and DevOps engineering.Migration & Infrastructure LeadershipArchitect and execute the migration of the existing KNIME platform to the KNIME Hub ecosystem on Lilly-managed infrastructure.Modernize Authentication: Lead the transition from NTLM to OAuth authentication across all KNIME nodes to enhance security and compliance.System Integration: Design and implement robust integrations between the KNIME Hub and native Lilly platforms, specifically for molecule searching.Platform Ownership: Post-migration, take full end-to-end ownership of the KNIME Hub ecosystem, including long-term roadmap planning and design of new integrations.Operational Excellence & Node MaintenanceManage Node Health: Oversee ongoing maintenance, scaling, and performance tuning of KNIME nodes to ensure high availability for research scientists.Automation: Utilize best-in-class DevOps practices to automate platform deployment, monitoring, and recovery processes.Technical Leadership: Act as the subject matter expert for the platform, providing guidance to SPE Research leadership and infrastructure teams to ensure alignment with Info-Security standards.Basic QualificationsExperience: 8?10 years of professional experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or Platform Management.Education: Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.3 Must skillsProven track record of migrating complex enterprise platforms (specifically KNIME or similar data science workbenches).Expert-level knowledge of Linux and Windows server administration.Deep understanding of authentication protocols, specifically NTLM and OAuth/OIDC implementation.Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes (Helm), and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
