Professional Services Engineer (Software Developer)
We are looking for a Professional Services Engineer. This is a unique, high-impact role that sits at the intersection of software engineering, AI, and professional services embedded directly within the field to shape how solutions are deployed, Integrated, and continuously improved.
Reporting to the Services Director, you will own the technical backbone of the Field Deployment Engineering (FDE) program, design and build integrations and custom solutions for complex customer environments, serve as the internal escalation authority for challenging deployments, and drive automation that makes the global services organization smarter and faster.
This is a globally-scoped role with significant customer-facing responsibilities and up to 50% travel across regions. You will be expected to engage directly with customers, partners, and field teams in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC bringing technical leadership to the ground where it matters most.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
FDE Program – Technical Ownership
- Own the technical definition, scoping methodology, and quality standards for the FDE program across all global regions
- Partner with regional directors and delivery teams in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC to scope complex engagements, define solution architectures, and ensure technical feasibility before commitments are made
- Travel onsite to customer environments to lead scoping workshops, architecture sessions, and deployment reviews
- Build and maintain reusable FDE frameworks, templates, and tooling that scale across regions and delivery models
Software Engineering & Customization
- Design, develop, and deliver custom integrations, workflows, and extensions that connect Cellebrite platforms with customer environments (APIs, data pipelines, automation layers)
- Engage directly with enterprise customers to understand requirements, co-design solutions, and validate technical outcomes in the field
- Translate complex customer requirements into robust, maintainable technical solutions
- Maintain a library of reusable solution components and accelerators for common deployment patterns across global markets
Technical Escalation & Architecture
- Serve as the final internal escalation point for complex deployment challenges, architecture questions, and technical blockers raised by field teams globally
- Travel to customer sites for high-stakes engagements where on-the-ground technical presence is required
- Conduct architecture reviews for non-standard or high-complexity implementations, providing guidance and hands-on support
- Collaborate closely with R&D and Product teams to bridge field realities with product capabilities across diverse customer environments
Internal Automation & Process Innovation
- Identify and build AI-powered and automated tools that improve the efficiency, consistency, and quality of services delivery operations globally
- Apply modern AI/ML techniques including LLM-based tooling, agents, and workflow automation to internal processes across the services lifecycle
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement through engineering, with an eye toward what scales across regions and customer types
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Technical Skills
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with strong proficiency in at least one backend language (Python preferred; Node.js, Java, or similar accepted)
- Hands-on experience building and integrating REST APIs, webhooks, and data pipelines
- Practical AI/ML experience including working with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.), building agentic workflows, and deploying AI-powered tools in production contexts
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD practices
- Experience with enterprise data environments (SQL/NoSQL databases, data transformation, ETL concepts)
Professional Services Background
- Prior experience in a professional services, field engineering, solutions consulting, or customer-facing technical delivery role
- Demonstrated ability to scope and architect solutions collaboratively with enterprise customers across different geographies and regulatory environments
- Comfort operating in ambiguous, high-variability environments balancing engineering rigor with delivery pragmatism
- Experience working across cultures and time zones in a global services or consulting context
Customer Engagement & Communication
- Confident, polished presence in customer-facing settings from executive briefings to technical working sessions
- Ability to build trust quickly with diverse stakeholders including law enforcement agencies, government bodies, and enterprise security teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 50% of the time
Leadership
- Ability to influence without authority across regional teams, R&D, and customer stakeholders
- Track record of mentoring engineers or elevating technical standards within a distributed team
