We are looking for a skilled  Debug Engineer to design and build debugging tools for specialized hardware. These tools will operate in a lab environment, control hardware in real time through interfaces such as serial communication and JTAG, and interact with remote machines.

The role also includes close collaboration with hardware and firmware engineers, gathering feedback, and continuously improving tool functionality and performance.

This is a full-time position in Haifa

Responsibilities:

• Develop Python-based debugging and automation tools for real-time hardware interaction.
• Work with serial consoles, JTAG, subprocess management, JSON handling, and various automation/testing frameworks.
• Translate technical specifications into functional, maintainable code.
• Integrate tools with remote lab setups and hardware interfaces.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to refine features and expand tool capabilities.

Requirements:

• 1–2 years of hands-on experience developing Python scripts and automation tools.
• Strong experience with serial communication, subprocess management, JSON, and test automation.
• Familiarity with hardware/software interfaces, including registers, JTAG, and low-level communication.
• Ability to translate detailed technical specifications into clean, maintainable, and working code.
• Experience working with microcontroller debuggers.
• Code optimization and performance tuning experience.
• Experience developing user interfaces (CLI, GUI, or Web).
